Tomorrow we have a new episode of Polymer Clay Podcast available. In this episode we interviewed the very talented Judy Belcher. If you are not familiar with Judy’s work, you are in for a treat. We talked about a variety of things and Judy was happy to share. We had a few technical difficulties when we were recording the interview and I kept getting disconnected. When I got disconnected I could still hear Kira and Judy talking and I heard Kira say to Judy that I talk a lot, it’s true I admit it but I heard Judy reply that she could give me a run for my money, I had to laugh. Judy may have given me a run for money but she is so full of information that you will love to hear what she has to say. So make sure to come back tomorrow and listen to the interview. If you haven’t signed up for our newsletter, make sure you do, we will be giving away a copy of Judy’s book and DVD and you could be a lucky winner. See you tomorrow!

In the USA this is a busy time with everyone getting ready for the holidays and trying to accomplish all the tasks on their list but it is always nice to fit in some creative time and what better way to get motivated knowing you are making the perfect gift for a friend, co worker or family member. Ornaments make great gifts and are easy to make. I have made them for years and they are always appreciated. Try making some this year out of polymer clay, it is so much fun to just go crazy. This is the perfect kind of project to pull out that glitter, powdered pigments and embossing powder and just go for it! I have created stars, gingerbread men, dove, candy canes, angel ornaments and so much more. You can also cover one of those glass ball ornaments or shaped glass ones. Just bake the polymer clay right on the glass ornament. If you just cover certain areas of the glass ornament with polymer clay it is best to pull the clay off  after baking and glue it back on but if you cover the whole glass ornament you should have no problems with it coming off. This year I am really looking forward to creating some unique  ornaments since I am doing a swap with some of the members of the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy.  I am swapping 5 ornaments with 5 different members and I can’t wait to see what they come up with. I will make sure to post the photos when I receive mine so you can see what they create. We have some copies of the new magazine from Kalmbach Publishing called Make It Mine and I love it! Big thumbs up on this one, not only did it have several polymer clay tutorials but it was packed with other goodies that were very inspiring. If you haven’t picked up a copy, I would definitely recommend it. We have some copies to give away to our listeners and viewers so make sure to sign up for our newsletter to be automatically entered to win. You can also leave a comment on this site and we will enter you as well. We also have our Call For Creativity challenge going on and I would love to see some more entries. This month we want you to get inspired with composition leaf, check out the forum post to see what some of the other entries have made and post your own. Good luck!

Don’t forget to come back on Friday to listen to Polymer Clay Podcast, this week we have a great interview with Judy Belcher who was so much fun to talk with and we also have a copy of her book and DVD to give away so make sure to listen to see how you can be a lucky winner. We also recorded another interview last night and I think you will enjoy seeing a different side to the business of cane making so stay tuned for that as well. Enjoy!

Since Kira and I are meeting up in Orlando this weekend to attend and cover the Bead & Art Glass Festival & The Memories Expo, it got me started thinking of what events you would most like us to cover for Polymer Clay Podcast & Polymer Clay TV. There are so many events going on and we want to know which ones you would like us to attend and share with our audience. If you have a polymer clay event you would like us to attend and cover or something that would be relevant then we want to hear from you. Send us an e-mail at polymerclaypodcast@yahoo.com Let us know about your event and what is planned and we just might cover it on the show. Unfortunately many people can’t go to all the events every year so why not have us bring the event to you. When people ask me what exactly is Polymer Clay Productions, it is a hard question to answer, since Polymer Clay Productions is a lot of things. Polymer Clay Podcast is an online radio show and Polymer Clay TV is an online TV or television show. One of the big differences is that you can subscribe to our content so that when you want to listen or watch a new show it will automatically be downloaded for you. There is no charge for subscribing to Polymer Clay Podcast & Polymer Clay TV and you can stay subscribed forever and every Friday you will automatically get our new show. How cool is that! Some of you have noticed the new button at the top right of our site where you can now contact us if we are online and we can have a live chat or you can leave us a message if we are not online. Thanks for all the messages! We love hearing from you and answering your questions so don’t hesitate to give it a try, it is very easy.

We have started to receive some entries for the Call For Creativity and they are all so beautiful, check them out in our forum and post your entry there as well. The deadline to enter this month is November 28th. We look forward to seeing your entries and you just might win a prize! Last month we had 3 entries and all of them were from outside the USA. One was from Australia, one was from Germany and one was from Israel so it was so nice to see what other artists are doing around the world and share creative endeavors. Thanks for entering!

Yesterday I mentioned a polymer clay artist I met at an art show I attended over the weekend and I wanted to share a link to his website so you can check out his work. There aren’t many photos of Wiwat’s work on his site but you can get an idea of how unique his work is and if you are in any of the areas he is doing a show you can check him out in person.

This year there is a big get together of artists that are promoting buying handmade and I hope you will consider that this year when doing your holiday shopping. Anyone can go to Walmart and pick up a gift for someone that millions of other people might have but if you buy something handmade you are buying something unique that probably no one else has. You can find so many unique handmade things that artists and crafters have spent time creating for someone to enjoy and cherish. I for one, put lots of love into everything I create and I also believe a piece of my soul goes into all my work. I use only the best supplies and try to make functional items so everyone can enjoy them in their daily life, like a pair of my salt & pepper shakers. Some of the companies who mass produce things, you never know what is in the products and if it might be harmful to you or a child. I keep hearing about recalls, it seems almost weekly. When you buy handmade from an artist or crafter, you usually know what you are getting and can feel safe about giving something that is made for a child to a child and know it won’t harm them. I think that it is nice to know where the things you purchase come from and to know that the person who made it took care and research to bring you the best quality they could. It just makes sense to me. I will probably be making a lot of my gifts this year and I encourage you to do so too. Go back and check out our past shows, we have lots of ideas that will make great gifts. If you don’t have the time to make gifts this year, than I hope you will Buy Handmade!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I spent Sunday cruising around an art show with my family but there was only one polymer clay artist there. The artists work was beautiful and so different and I asked him if he would be interested in doing an interview for the show. I will keep you posted on that and try to get some photos of his work for the site as well. It was nice to just get away from the computer and experience things up close.  Speaking of shows, Kira and I will be attending The Bead and Arts Glass Festival and the Memories Expo on Saturday so check back next week when we share some of our experiences. We are hoping to get some great interviews and meet some great people.

This Friday is a new episode of Polymer Clay Podcast and in this episode we interviewed polymer clay artist Judy Belcher. You won’t want to miss the great talk we had with her so make sure to come back Friday and listen to the show. We have a bunch of other interviews in the works as well, so I think you will enjoying everyones different prospective on things. We also have a copy of Judy’s book and DVD to give away to some lucky winners, so listen to the podcast and see how you can win. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the DVD by Page Sage and I know you will too.

We had some new friends visit us this past week as well as some old friends. We had visitors from Saudi Arabia, Hungary,Luxembourg,Romania,London,UK, France, Portugal,Israel,Australia,Spain,Italy,Japan,Singapore,Philippines,The Netherlands,Russia,South Africa,Taipei,Slovenia,Brazil,Germany,Sweden,Canada,Mexico,China and that of course is to just name a few as well as the USA. I love to wake up and check our stats and see so many countries are appreciating what polymer clay has to offer. I certainly never thought I would be broadcasting around the world, but I love it! Thanks to everyone for your support!
