Polymer Clay TV & Classroom Tomorrow Creating ATC & ACEO Cards

Posted by Ilysa on 31 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

There will be a new episode of Polymer Clay TV & Polymer Clay Classroom tomorrow. We share some ideas for creating polymer clay and air dry polymer clay ATC & ACEO cards. The cards are so popular now that there are several books devoted to making them. We love making them and trading them and know you will too.

Kira shares the difference between the two cards, so if you have been wondering about making the cards, you won’t want to miss this show. This is the first episode in the new series of videos that we have filmed and we have made adjustments to the sound so it should be easier to hear both Kira and myself. We hope to make the show better every time we film. Thanks for all the suggestions for projects, we have taken them all into consideration and hope to be able to fit everything in.

The Polymer Clay Artists Guild is getting ready to have the monthly challenge and this month the theme was love. We had a record breaking amount of entries so it will take a few days to get everything live on the website but check back to vote for your favorite and you will be entered to win some great prizes donated by the members.

If you haven’t joined our community, what are you waiting for? We love hearing your thoughts and suggestions and this gives you an opportunity to share them with us and the group. You can upload photos of your work and share them as well. There is a link on the sidebar that has a bunch of photos on it and you can click on it to sign up or click on the following link. http://www.polymerclay.ning.com

Polymer Clay Productions Is Going On The Road

Posted by Ilysa on 30 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: Bottles of Hope

Time flies when you are having fun and we have been having lots of fun at Polymer Clay Productions. We are getting geared up for a busy February and March, when we will be taking the show on the road. We will be traveling to California to attend the Craft & Hobby Assoc. show next week and have a ton of interviews and goodies planned. We will also be filming the Bottle of Hope awards in the Amaco booth, so that should be a lot of fun and we will have tons of video to share with you. We are meeting some online friends, connecting with other polymer clay artists and so much more. It will be 4 jam packed days of crafting goodness. We will try to sit in on some of the make and takes and other tutorials, so you can get a sneak peek.

We will also be filming Polyforms booth and I am sure they will have some of their projects made with the Studio by Sculpey clay on display and we will get them on film to share with you.

The following week we head to Maryland to film the Synergy show and the American Craft Council show. We will be doing interviews there as well and I am working on setting up a few more today for while we are there so I am expecting our time to be jam packed there too. LOL I have to say that I am very excited to get to meet all these wonderful artists in person and I am sure we will meet lots of new friends.

If you are attending any of these shows, we would love to meet up with our listeners and viewers, so send us an e-mail or give us a call and we can arrange to meet. Hope to see you there!

Polymer Clay & Valentines Day, Hey That Rhymes & Prizes to Give Away

Posted by Ilysa on 29 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

As I was editing our upcoming episode of Polymer Clay TV, I was thinking that holidays have become so commercial and sometimes people forget what the holiday is really all about as they run around trying to find the perfect gift for everyone. That got me thinking that wouldn’t it be nice if everyone decided this year they would make their loved ones a special gift. How nice would that be. The thing is when you create something for someone your heart and soul, not to mention your precious time goes into making it. I know that I would prefer a handmade gift to any store bought gift and from talking to others, I know that a lot of you do too.

Why not take the time this year to make a special gift for your loved ones, instead of running around trying to find the perfect gift. Get the kids involved, they love to craft and make things. Polymer clay is a great medium to share with the kids, they love all the colors and possibilities. If you just can’t find the time to make a gift this year, why not make a card. Cards are easy and don’t take much time at all to make. I have made them with polymer clay hearts attached, with the letters LOVE cut out and a bunch of other ways. Just use your imagination and think of the person when you are making the card and you will see how easy it is to think of what they might like.

Speaking of cards, I wanted to share with you an awesome forum I recently found. It is for people who like to make crads and scrapbook. They have swaps, challenges, gallery work, trades, forum boards and so much more. You can check them out at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com

If you like rubber stamping, scrapbooking, card making and more, you will love sharing on the forums. Check out the gallery for some inspiration.

Speaking of sharing, we would love you to come over and join our community. There is a link on the right sidebar of this website with a bunch of photos and if you click on it, it will take you to our community. We would love to have you join us! We have some upcoming things planned that only our community members will get to participate in, so you don’t want to miss out.

This Friday we have a new episode of Polymer Clay TV, so come on back for that. If you haven’t signed up for our newsletter yet, then make sure to do so right away as we will be picking the monthly winners in a couple of days. This month we have some of the Hearty air dry polymer clay and a copy of Artists At Work Polymer Clay Comes of Age by Pierrette Brown Ashcroft & Lindly Haunani to give away. Good luck!
