Something new- a Bottles of Hope weekly event
Ilysa and I were talking today, and recording this week’s podcast, and we decided that we would like to be more involved with the Bottles of Hope. Also, that we want to inspire and encourage other artists to work in this interesting and uplifting medium- covering tiny bottles with clay, and sending them off to encourage cancer patients in their struggle with the disease- filled with hope for their survival and recovery.
So- we are going to start creating one bottle a week, and posting pictures of them on Sundays. We will be putting a guestbook on the site every Sunday and you are encouraged to load up pictures of your bottles. There will be a weekly theme, and we will volunteer to collect and distribute them- or you can distribute them yourselves. Remember, BOH are not sold- they are given as gifts. Our first post showing our bottles will occur on April 11. The theme is SPRING.
We are thinking about having our weekly inspirational theme, and also have a quarterly contest with prizes and hopefully a “celebrity” guest judge. So stay tuned!
We loved our idea- but can’t think of a good name for it! So, we decided that we will have a contest. Help us think up a good name for our weekly BOH Sunday event, and either post a comment or email us. The creators of the top three best names will win a copy of the current Make it Mine Magazine, which we will be reviewing this Friday.
