Polymer Clay Productions Member Feature & Life Has Been Crazy

Wow, what a week this has started out to be. I have this terrible habit of not being able to sleep when I know I have to go somewhere the next day. I know it sounds crazy and maybe I am crazy after all both of my parents were psychologists. LOL

My father in law was being operated on yesterday and we spent the entire day at the hospital. What is it with hospitals and not being able to give you any information? Yikes! They told us he would be in recovery for 1 or 2 hours and it was 5 hours because they couldn’t find a bed to put him in. Then they told us it would be 20 minutes until he would be in his assigned room and that took an hour and a half. Sheesh! Well it looks like we will be spending the entire day there today also but I wanted to get this posted before we head out. The hospital is about 40 miles away from where we live so it is going to be a long day and I am going to be quite tired.

Kira is at her sisters wedding in NY and she is the technical one so please be patient if you have contacted us, we will get in touch shortly.

This weeks featured community member is also a member of the PCAGOE http://www.pcagoe.com and helps run the monthly challenge. Alissa has made a series of ACEO cards and you can check them out in her slide show in our community. You can see more of her work in her etsy shop as well http://www.divadea.etsy.com

Polymer Clay Podcast Friday Creating with Amazing Mold Putty & PCAGOE Monthly Winner

This Friday we have a new episode of Polymer Clay Podcast and we are talking about Amazing Mold Putty. This stuff is amazing! You can mold almost anything with this product, including food or a babies hand. One of the toughest things to do when creating a mold is to avoid distorting your molded clay piece when you remove it from the mold. This product eliminates that because you can stick the Amazing Mold Putty in the oven when you bake your clay. How cool is that!

You have probably heard that Kira and I are all about instant gratification well this putty hardens up without baking it in 15 minutes or less. You do NOT need to bake the putty but it is nice that you can to avoid distortion of some delicate pieces by baking them in the mold. Make sure to come back Friday to listen to the podcast and to see how you can win some of the Amazing Mold Putty.
The winner of this months PCAGOE challenge, http://www.pcagoe.com was Mary Ellen of http://www.beetreebyme.etsy.com

Her piece was so detailed and so life like, and what better hero than a dog that helps the bomb squad stay safe. We were lucky to get to meet Mary Ellen in person at the Synergy show. Congrats ME!

Make sure to check out more of Mary Ellen’s work in her etsy shop, you can own one of her hand sculpted dogs that depicts your favorite pooch.

Today we have a new episode of Polymer Clay TV for you to enjoy. This week we show you how to silkscreen on polymer clay. This is an easy and fun technique that anyone can master. All you need is some clay and acrylic paint. You will have to do some testing to see what brand of paint works best on the brand of polymer clay you are using. I had good luck with the Folk Art & apple Barrel brands on Premo brand clay. Enjoy!

If you would like to try our Magic Transfer Paper which we demonstrated on last weeks video just send an e-mail to polymerclaypodcast@yahoo.com with your mailing address and we will get it in the mail.
