In these green days, when we are all looking to conserve, reuse, and recycle, why not make something beautiful out of something totally mundane? There must be an economic advantage to putting beer in decorative aluminum bottles. Whatever the reason, it leaves us with great raw material to decorate with clay! Think of the possibilities. The bottles are lightweight enough to use tin snips to change the shape of the top, or put a decorative hole in the side. Be sure to cover the entire thing, or you may experience cracking of the clay or sharp edges- you don’t want to hurt anyone! So find your beer-guzzling friends, and next time a bottle is headed for the trash, ask for it so you can purposefully recycle it into art.
